For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1941 Parker Azure Blue Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Long Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Clip, Chevron Cap Band, bottom jewel tassel and 14K Parker Vac NIB. Additionally, I cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. This cap displays the Split Arrow Gold Filled Blue Diamond Clip and Chevron Cap Banding, which displays no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are black and been polished to bring back a beautiful shine. The barrel is clearly stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 1 (for 1941) in the 2nd Quarter". The transparency of the barrel is very good and a person can easily see through the barrel, albeit with mild ambering. The blind cap securely fits. The Vacumatic Speedline Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 12-14 presses to fill full. This Parker Vacumatic is a long major size, which measures 5 3/8" in length capped and 6 3/8" posted.
This Parker Vacumatic NIB is a 14K gold 2-Tone Split Arrow NIB with a Date matching 1941 date code making the nib and the rest of the pen a marriage. The actual writing portion/tip of this 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .62mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating the writing sample, this Parker NIB writes with a medium stroke. The writing sample provided in the listing image shows the range of the stroke/line measurement between .75mm to .87mm when measured with digital calipers with normal to medium pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
This is a gorgeous and very clean Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Azure Pearl Celluloid that is in Excellent Condition. This is a difficult to acquire Parker Vacumatic in the scarce Long Major size in addition to this Azure color only being manufactured for 18 months that started in mid-1940 - compared to 4 years for the other colors. This Parker is ready to write or add to your writing arsenal collection.
